Die außergewöhnliche Reversdarstellung bezieht sich auf die Erfolge des Gnaeus Domitius Corbulo im Partherkrieg. Im Jahr 63 hatte Corbulo mit einem starken Heer den Euphrat überschritten und Tiridates schloß, ohne daß es zu einer Schlacht kam, Frieden. In Rhandea legte er vor einer Statue Neros seine Krone ab und versprach, sie nur aus der Hand des Kaisers wieder anzunehmen, was im Jahr 66 in Rom geschah.
