Auf dieser Münze von Selinunt erscheinen Apollon und Artemis in einem Viergespann, Apollon als Bogenschütze und Artemis als Wagenlenker. Beide sind Schutzgottheiten von Megara, der Mutterstadt von Selinunt. In dieser Funktion treten sie auch in der Kolonie auf.
This coin of Selinunte depicts Apollo and Artemis on a quadriga, Apollo as an archer and Artemis as a charioteer. Both gods were protective deities of Megara, Selinunte’s mother city, and were also worshiped as such in the colony.
