Silbermedaille o. J. (1689), unsigniert, auf die Aufnahme von James II. von Großbritannien in Frankreich. Büste r. mit Lorbeerkanz//Fünf Zeilen Schrift, umher Kranz mit Granatäpfeln und Schriftband. 37,91 mm; 28,32 g. Eimer -; v. Loon III, S. 399.
Von größter Seltenheit. Hübsche Patina, winz. Randfehler und Kratzer, fast vorzüglich
Als katholischer und absolutistischer Herrscher war James II bei seinen Untertanen nicht besonders beliebt; in der Glorious Revolution von 1688 wurde er abgesetzt. James II floh nach Frankreich und wurde dort von Louis XIV in Empfang genommen, worauf unsere Medaille Bezug nimmt. Er versuchte von dort mit Hilfe des französischen Königs wieder auf den britischen Thron zu gelangen, allerdings vergeblich.
