Rasch Melqart (= Haupt des Herakles) gilt für gewöhnlich als punische Bezeichnung einer Stadt auf Sizilien (möglicherweise Kephaloidion). Leo Mildenberg zweifelt dies an und hält Rasch Melqart für den Namen einer karthagischen Institution (möglicherweise einer Militäreinheit), siehe Mildenberg, RSMLQRT, in: Price/Burnett/ Bland, Essays in honour of Robert Carson and Kenneth Jenkins, London 1993, S. 7 f.
