Während andere Kaiser des dritten Jahrhunderts n. Chr. häufig in ihrer Münzprägung auf das Militär Bezug nehmen, heben Trebonianus Gallus und sein Sohn Volusianus die Libertas besonders heraus. Auf ihren Münzen kann Libertas nicht für die Befreiung von einem Tyrannen stehen, sondern soll möglicherweise auf die Rechtmäßigkeit der Herrschaft hinweisen.
