Die Legio XX wird von Octavian wieder errichtet. Nach der Varusschlacht wird sie zuerst nach Oppidum Ubiorum, dem späteren Colonia Agrippina (Köln), dann nach Novaesium (Neuß) verlegt. Ab 43 n. Chr. ist sie in Britannien zu finden.
