Früher wurde die Münzstätte als Laodicea ad mare (das heutige Latakia) identifiziert (so in BMC, RIC und OCRE). Nach aktuellem Forschungsstand ist die Münzstätte allerdings Antiochia am Orontes, das heutige Antakya in der Türkei (siehe die Beschreibung des Stückes auf der Webseite des British Museum, Museum number 1992,0509.107).
