Christian Ludwig erbte 1648 die Celleschen Landesteile, worauf er Calenberg an seinen Bruder Georg Wilhelm abgab. Durch die Regierungsübernahme dürfte diese erste umfangreiche Löserprägung des Herzogs veranlaßt worden sein.
