K. Morrison/F. Grunthal ordnen die Münzen dieses Typs unter „Late Ninth-Century Issues of an Emperor Charles“ ein, wohingegen sich G. Depeyrot für eine Prägung unter Karl dem Kahlen (843-877) ausspricht. Interessant an dem vorliegenden Typ ist die runde Gestaltung des Buchstabens „N“.
